About this role
What will you be doing?
As a Facilities & Cleaning Assistant you make sure that our venue is always clean, tidy and welcoming. You carry out cleaning work according to the schedule and quality standards, maintain order and hygiene in and around the venue, and make sure that sports and games equipment is ready for hire and activities.
You are also the point of contact for our guests and visitors. You welcome, guide and inform them and you supervise the correct use of equipment, rooms and facilities. You also assist with light maintenance and repair work and help the technical officer with faults or maintenance. In addition, you work together with colleagues from the hospitality, front office, facilities and sports departments.
You manage cleaning materials and flag when stock needs replenishing. You also make sure that the venue is opened and closed safely in accordance with company procedures, and in the event of an emergency you act in line with the emergency and evacuation plan, in which you also carry out BHV (Dutch in-house emergency response) and first-aid duties.
Finally, you supervise interns within the Facilities department and in this way contribute to smooth, hospitable day-to-day operations.
Who are you?
You are an enthusiastic and reliable colleague who likes to roll up their sleeves. You have an eye for tidiness and order, work accurately and can function well both independently and as part of a team. You also consider hospitality important and feel responsible for a safe and well-kept environment. Flexibility, a practical attitude and a positive outlook make you the perfect addition to our team.
Our organisational competencies – innovative, flexibility, hospitality, attention and collaboration – come naturally to you. You apply them daily in your work and you are an example to your colleagues.
What do we offer?
An enjoyable, varied job in which you can work independently in a friendly team, with good guidance and a pleasant working environment;
Hours are negotiable, from 16 hours per week up to full-time;
A good salary in line with the CAO Zwembaden scale 4 – a salary between €2,694.59 and €2,999.84 gross per month for a full-time appointment, depending on your experience;
Good secondary employment benefits in line with the CAO Zwembaden;
Working in a renewed and modern sports complex that reopens its doors from the end of August 2026;
Flexible working hours;
Discounted swimming at Merwestein and the opportunity to train at a discount with our neighbours DeMIX Fitness & Leefstijl;
Team outings, a fantastic season and year-end celebration and a friendly working atmosphere.
What do we ask?
You have completed an mbo level 2-3 qualification (Dutch senior secondary vocational education), preferably in facility services or cleaning, or you have relevant work experience;
You hold a BHV (Dutch in-house emergency response) and first-aid certificate, or you are willing to obtain these through us;
You can provide a valid Certificate of Conduct (VOG);
You have experience with cleaning, facility management or supervisory work, preferably in a public environment;
You know how to work with cleaning materials and safety regulations and you have an eye for hospitality;
You are presentable, service-minded and take responsibility for your work;
You are flexible and have no objection to working varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Living in the Nieuwegein region is an advantage.
